Myers Riley Motorsports Ready for Six-Hour Endurance Battle at Road America

Myers Riley Motorsports returns to endurance racing this weekend as the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship heads to Road America for the six-hour Motul SportsCar Endurance Grand Prix.

Sheena Monk and Felipe Fraga will once again be joined by Jenson Altzman behind the wheel of the No. 16 Myers Riley Motorsports Ford Mustang GT3 Evo. The trio will look to build on the team’s recent progress and secure another strong result in the highly competitive GTD field.

Monk enters the Road America weekend third in the Bob Akin Award standings. She currently sits 20 points behind second place and 80 points behind the championship lead, keeping the team firmly in contention for a shot at the 24 Hours of Le Mans next year. A strong result in the six-hour endurance race could prove important as Myers Riley Motorsports continues its push in the championship.

At 4.04 miles and 14 corners, Road America is one of the longest and fastest circuits on the IMSA calendar. Its high-speed sections, heavy braking zones and long straights will place a premium on consistency, strategy and execution throughout the six-hour contest at the America’s National Park of Speed. 

Monk returns to a track where she has previously enjoyed success and believes its characteristics could play to the strengths of the Mustang GT3 Evo.

“Road America is one of the best racetracks in the U.S., and since joining the GTD field, I’ve hoped it would become part of the endurance calendar,” said Monk. “It’s a place where I’ve had success in the past, and I believe the nature of the circuit will suit the Mustang well. I’m excited to see what we can accomplish over six hours.”

Fraga is equally eager to take on one of North America’s most demanding road courses as the team continues its work alongside Riley Motorsports and Ford.

“Road America is one of the best tracks on the IMSA calendar and always a place I enjoy racing,” said Fraga. “It’s a demanding layout where consistency and execution make all the difference, especially in a six-hour race. We’ve been working hard with Riley Motorsports and Ford, and I’m looking forward to fighting for a strong result this weekend.”

For Altzman, Road America offers the first opportunity this season to return to a racetrack he also competed at in 2025 when he scored his first Mustang GT4 victory.

“I’m excited to be back at Road America for the next endurance event in our No. 16 Mustang GT3,” said Altzman. “This will be the first track I’ve driven at this year that I also raced at last season, so I’m looking forward to gathering data and seeing a real correlation between the non-Evo and Evo-spec cars. I earned my first win here last year in the Mustang GT4, so I’m hoping to double up on that with Sheena, Felipe and the entire Myers Riley team.”

The Motul SportsCar Endurance Grand Prix takes place Sunday, August 2, with the six-hour race beginning at 11:40 a.m. ET. U.S. viewers can follow the event on Peacock starting at 11:30 AM ET, with international coverage available through IMSA’s YouTube channel and IMSA.TV.
