Myers Riley Motorsports returns to the streets of Southern California this weekend for the Grand Prix of Long Beach, with Sheena Monk and Felipe Fraga set to drive the No. 16 Bud Moore Ford Mustang GT3 as the team targets both a strong GTD result and points in the Bob Akin Award fight.

The Long Beach street circuit is one of the most demanding stops on the IMSA calendar, where qualifying and clean execution often make the difference. For Myers Riley Motorsports, it is also a venue that connects to the organization’s broader legacy. Riley-built machinery claimed victory in sports car racing’s return to Long Beach in 2006, when Scott Pruett and Luis Diaz won in a Lexus-Riley, while the Riley/Kellymoss banner returned to victory lane there in 2023 with Riley Dickinson’s Porsche Carrera Cup North America win.

With the Bud Moore tribute livery once again carrying Ford history onto the racetrack, the No. 16 entry arrives at Long Beach with clear objectives: fight for the win, maximize championship points, and strengthen Monk’s position in the Bob Akin Award standings. The Pennsylvania native continues to build momentum in her full-season GTD campaign with Myers Riley Motorsports.

“Long Beach is one of my favorite events of the season simply for the atmosphere,” explained Sheena Monk. “ It’s a shorter format, in stark contrast to the first two rounds of the season, so we will be pushing more straight from the green flag. I’m eager to begin the sprint rounds with Filipe and the team as we push to close in on the Akin Championship.”

“I’m really excited for my first IMSA street race,” said Felipe Fraga. “ I’ve always loved this kind of track in other series, like Brazilian Stock Car, so I can’t wait to take on Long Beach with the Mustang. It’s also great to be back with the Riley family.”

The Grand Prix of Long Beach gives Myers Riley Motorsports a chance to add another chapter to Riley’s history at one of North America’s most iconic street races. The Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach is scheduled to go green at 1:05 p.m. PST on Saturday. Fans can watch live on NBC or Peacock.
